I got out the small bit of cute fabric and fusible fleece I grabbed at Hobby Lobby and followed THIS TUTORIAL and made myself a new (and improved) padded camera strap cover. I'd made one not too long ago, but it wasn't padded. I loved the fabric, but after carrying the camera around a lot lately on our outings, I decided to sniff out a tutorial on a padded cover and found one. Lucky for me, it was an EASY tutorial, as well.
However, I wasn't satisfied with just that. I wanted some place to keep my lens cap, too. I'd thought about making a pocket-type holder attached to a piece of covered elastic, but decided I didn't want anything dangling from me while I'm taking pictures... so I went on Etsy. I saw a few variations of pocket-type holders and sat with my novice skills at the sewing machine until I made something similar. I love it! It's totally a prototype of sorts and needs improvement, but I think it'll work great for me! Yay!

This slides off or down easily if I prefer to have it off. I also lined the pocket with a bit of red flannel (which is also the solid half of the fabric seen in the tutorial). I figured the flannel would help "grab" the cap better while in the pocket.

And while I'm at it, I made these the other day for the kids' breakfast... from the blueberries we picked, of course!

What made these special is that they were made with oats and OJ, as well. MMmmmmmm!
HERE'S THE RECIPE!
I like the new cover. Great idea for the lens holder. Ms. Amber is going to make me one and I'm so excited. You girls are tooooo talented for me! ;-)
