Happy 4th of July!

Aaaaaand, a gajillion MORE pictures!!!

-----------

Tonight was round 2 of the fireworks and fun!! I have to say that I absolutely *LOVE* our little town's fireworks. They spend THOUSANDS on the fireworks every year, and the local park hosts all sorts of bouncy inflatables, a live band, "fair food", and tons more. It's SO MUCH FUN and I just love bringing our lawn chairs, blankets, coolers of snacks, and fun "4th toys" like glowsticks and confetti poppers and snap-n-pops. It's pure "Americana" at its best, and we had a great time. Bridgette had an open invitation, so the kids got to hang with "Aunt Bridgette" for the second night in a row. I hope she enjoyed the fireworks!! My mom, Sandra, me, Chris, the kids, and Bridgette sat there in the comfy, warm evening and watched, in my opinion, the best display around. It's a LONG set of fireworks, and from where we watch them, it literally fills the ENTIRE sky. In fact, we're so close that, last year, we actually had bits falling on us by the end!!!

It's amazing to lay on a blanket and watch fireworks so huge that it fills your entire peripheral vision. Just amazing.

I brought the facepaint back, and Chris decided to do "Patriotic KISS" - Oy vey!!!

Happy 4th!

And, finally, a little somethin' we like to call "FAR-WERKS" 'round here. *wink*

Here's something I got an idea for in this month's "Family Fun" magazine. I'm a sucker for keepsakes, and I thought this was cute. Sandra had already picked up a couple of the cheapy USA shirts from Walmart. You can get them from just about anywhere. We've had them from Old Navy, Target, and Walmart. All are $3 to $5 every year. If you want to make it even more special, get out your t-shirt paints and get busy!!!

The eagle idea was from the magazine. (Chris kept teasing the kids and calling them chickens, while Bridgette called them turkeys.) EAGLES, guys!! EEEEEAGLES!!!!!!

palms (no thumbs) for wings (painted with gold glitter!), the bottom of their fist for the head, their 3 middle fingers for the tail, and little embellishments...
