Pajama Day (finding the peace before the storm)

While it may have taken the flu to make my over-scheduled and over-planned rear-end to SIT DOWN and STOP, that's what happened today.

Sophie is still under the weather, having a fever of 102.7 just before bed. Bryce's, fortunately, has broken, but the boy still has a nasty cough. I told Sophie that tomorrow would be a better day. I pray it is.

Anyway, while I didn't get in the kitchen as I'd planned (for fear of tainting Christmas edibles), we made some really cute crafts, watched several Christmas shows, and basically just laid around and rested.

They wanted pancakes for lunch (??), so instead of maple syrup, I put whipped cream, chocolate chips, and Christmas sprinkles on them. Smiles abound.

They also got to sample my NON-tained fudge that I made (peanut butter and milk chocolate) two days ago (I didn't touch any of that fudge, mind you... only the hand-rolled truffles, of which most got tossed into the trash.) More smiles.

I can't complain about today AT ALL, well, other than I wish we were all HEALTHY and having a lazy day. But if that were the case, I would've been in an organizing, cleaning frenzy and cooking all day due to the fact that Christmas is just a few days away.

Sure, the kids need a bath, and those closets SO BADLY needed organizing before bringing more stuff into the house, but hey, it'll get done...

..just not before Christmas
(The organizing, that is, hahaha! Kids MUST have a bath tomorrow!!!)

  1. I cannot believe you are up and moving AND blogging one day into the flu! That must be some darn, awesome, powerful meds you are taking. ;-) Glad you guys are on the mend. And glad you are having a pj day, even if it took being sick to make it happen. And yes, bring on the guy in the red suit!!!! Merry Christmas sweet friend!
