Snow Day!

Well, our Winter Storm turned into somewhere between 4-6 inches of the perfect packing snow. And the fun part? Streets cleared by day 2, but the temps have been suuuuuper cold, so the snow hasn't gone away!! It's just beautiful hanging onto the sides of trees and the tops of houses... I just LOVE it!!!!

All in all, Sophie got 2 days home from school giving her a 4-day weekend, and Bryce and I got one. Mine was the first day of the Spring semester. I have to say this - after we had such an icky Christmas vacation, we *deserved* this wonderful 4-day weekend!

We got outside to play, of course, and Sophie made a snowman ALL BY HERSELF. I thought it would be fun to see how big of a snowball I could roll. By the end of it, Chris had to help me roll it. I got it back near the porch and turned it into a gigantic kitty head with twig whiskers. LOL!

We walked around the block and watched everyone making forts, snowmen, and enjoying the snow.

I can't believe it's almost been a week and we still have a good bit of snow on the ground, especially on the North sides of homes and buildings. I think our kitty head will be there until Summer, ha!

  1. My mom used to wrap bread bags on my boots or shoes. That was before plastic bags from target.

  2. Hahaha! I was wondering how many people would catch that. We realized that Bryce had outgrown the snow/cold weather boots he had from last year during this outing, and Sophie only had some really warm suede ones. I don't "do" wet shoes AT ALL. Needless to say, if you look closely, you'll see that our walk around the block caused them to go through the bags, so we had wet shoes, anyway. Thank goodness I Scotch-Guarded those suede boots a jillion times before she wore them. ;)
