Talking on your cell phone while driving makes you FOUR TIMES more likely to have an accident, which is actually the same statistic as driving while drunk.
Driving and TEXTING makes you EIGHT TIMES more likely to have an accident.
So, all of you out there - are you doing it?
Bluetooth doesn't matter - it's more about how your brain is able/unable to multitask doing so much at once.
I'll admit - I talk on the phone. I had NO IDEA of the statistics... no idea.
I will say this, though - unless it's urgent, I will NO LONGER be talking just for the sake of talking while I'm driving. My children are worth more than that.
And about those texts? I've never sent a text message in my life. I've emailed other people's phones from my desk chair, but I've never sent a text from a phone - and don't plan to any time soon.
Just planting the seed, friends. (Thank you, Oprah!)
